Happy New Year!  I hope everyone enjoyed their time off and is ready to carry out your goals for the year.

Sacramento Council's goal this year is to continue PTA's mission to positively impact the lives of all children and families by representing our members, and empowering and supporting them with skills in advocacy, leadership and communications.

One area we are focusing on is to get our 3,700 PTA members within SCUSD on "Just Between Friends," PTA 's official communications and membership management system.  The online system was developed to help PTAs efficiently communicate with their school community; earn revenue for their unit; and manage membership. The system also helps parents to manage their hectic lives by providing them with tools to easily access and organize their family's activities.

We are offering training for "Just Between Friends" as well as other workshops at our General Membership Meeting and Leadership Training Workshops on Thursday, January 19. (see below). We will elect our nominating committee at this meeting.

Start off the new year right by refining your leadership skills and learning about new programs in the school district. Our trainings are FREE for PTA Members and are open to all parents, teachers, staff and principals in SCUSD.  Register online below or mail the registration form asap as space is limited.

As we update our Sacramento Council website and transition our communications to "Just Between Friends," you will continue to receive Leadership News through Constant Contact emails. You may also want to subscribe to receive the on-line publications from CAPTA to keep up with our advocacy efforts.

If you are not a PTA member yet, please join one of our 43 PTA units in SCUSD.
